Thin pocket watch with extremely thin cylinder movement
–
An extremely thin gold enamel Lépine with calibre Bagnolet, probably made in Geneva, Switzerland, circa 1850. The open faced case of this is crafted from 18 Carat gold, is only 5 mm thick and has an engine turned back which has a cartouche in the centre with an engraved landscape scene and small enamel inlays. The engine-turned silver dial has an outer ring with Roman numerals for the hours and filigree Breguet hands. The movement has an extremely flat cylinder escapement, a full plate movement calibre Bagnolet with beautiful and rare decoration and is engraved in two colours gold and silver.
