A very fine, elegant, Swiss diamond set gold enamel lorgnette with concealed watch, circa 1850.
Gold and enamel case, folded lorgnette released by a pusher in the band; finely engraved on both sides with scrolled foliage, decorated with and white and blue champlevé enamel details, the front with hinged watch cover overlaid with translucent cobalt blue enamel over engine turned ground, centred with a diamond set spray of grain spikes. Enamel dial with radial Roman numerals, blued spade hands and a very finely engraved gold mask with signature. Gilt bridge movement with six jewels and cylinder escapement.

Fatio-Junod, Jacques-Alphonse (1798-1871)
Jacques-Alphonse Fatio-Junod was a leading watchmaker in Geneva who is particularly known for his Bagnolet calibre watches. According to records, Fatio-Junod worked from 1844 to 1861 at the Chemin Gourgas address in the Plain palais district of Geneva.
