Unsigned gold key wound hunting cased pocket watch
–
A Swiss yellow gold, enamel, and diamond set key wound hunting cased pocket watch, circa 1860. The watch features a key wound cylinder movement. The 18 carat yellow gold case includes a restored blue enamel lid set with rose cut diamonds, a cuvette secured by two screws, and a hinged case back adorned with a floral motif, all mounted within a later added pendant displaying a lion motif. The white enamel, marked with Roman numerals, has a gold outer perimeter that matches the case back.

The case is generally in good condition. The blue enamel has been restored with soft enamel. The rose cut diamonds are of decorative quality. The outer lion motif was added later, including two chain jump rings. A chain is not included with the timepiece. The cuvette has likely been modified from a hinge to being screwed in. The dial shows wear commensurate with age, including a light hairline between 7 and 11 o’clock. The movement is not running.
