A Swiss 18 carat gold key wind pocket watch, The Vase, circa 1800-1810. The round shaped case is glazed on both sides and has a hinged back. The face shows a small eccentric white enamel dial with Arabic hour numerals, an outer minute track and blued steel hands. Fitted with a gilded brass, engraved and diamond set movement in the shape of a vase with fusee and chain, a verge escapement, monometallic balance and blued steel flat hairspring. The watch comes in an old tortoise shell presentation box.

These watches are extremely rare. To date, only about ten of these watches are known to exist, most of them in important collections and museums. In 2016, one of these ten watches was sold in Geneva for more than CHF 18.000 (about € 16,515). Another example was auctioned with an estimated price between € 15,000 and € 20,000.
