An early, probably, German gilt metal tambour cased stackfreed verge watch with alarm, circa 1580 and later.
Gilt two train verge movement, later dumb bell balance, steel stackfreed, later hogs bristle regulation, steel count wheel, striking on a bell.
Later gilt dial, chapter ring with Roman numerals and divisions at the quarters. Engraved case with pierced band, pierced and engraved to the back with scrolling foliate design centred by an angel.
