A very fine and elegant Swiss 18 carat gold and enamel open faced keyless lever miniature pocket watch, circa 1880s. Frosted gilt movement, bridge calibre, 16 jewels, cylinder escapement, cut bimetallic balance, blued steel Breguet balance spring. Hinged gold cuvette. A porcelain dial with painted black Arabic hours, minute divisions, blue Arabic five minute numerals and blued steel Louis XV hands. Solid case, an engraved band, the front with opalescent, polychrome guilloché enamel, the hinged back with a polychrome enamel bouquet of roses. Cuvette signed, movement numbered.
