Gold hunting cased lever ladies’ watch

A small, exquisite Swiss 18 carat gold, enamel and diamond set hunting cased pocket watch made by Patek Philippe in Geneva, circa 1871. Sold on November 17th, 1871. The bridge movement with a piston tooth lever escapement and gold screw compensation balance. White enamel dial with Roman hour numerals, an outer minute track, sunk subsidiary seconds and blued spade hands. A fine case decorated with polychrome enamel, floral engravings and small old cut diamonds. The front with an enamel plaque showing two very finely painted putti in the middle of a flower tendril, and in the center an oval black medallion with a central vacant cartouche and diamond setting. The back is decorated with a summer flower garland on a light blue background featuring a central black medallion and engraved center. Cuvette signed and numbered, case and movement with matching numbers.
