A fine French 18 carat gold and enamel open faced dumb quarter repeating cylinder pendant watch, circa 1785. Frosted gilt full plate movement cut away for the going barrel, cylindrical pillars, cylinder escapement, three-arm brass balance with flat balance spring, polished steel bridge cock, index regulator with polished steel scale, repeating à toc activated by depressing the pendant. White enamel dial with Arabic numerals, outer minute divisions, winding aperture at 2 and original gold beetle and poker hands. Louis XVI case with concealed hinge, the bezel decorated with Royal blue and white enamel and silver paillons in imitation of pearls, the back with translucent Royal blue guilloché enamel, gold and silver paillon central rosette to imitate pearls, outer border to match the bezel. Dial and movement signed.
