A fine Swiss 18 carat gold, enamel and pearl set open faced keywound verge watch, circa 1800. Gilt finished verge movement, chain fusée. White enamel dial with Breguet numerals. Case with split pearl set bezels, the reverse with a painted polychrome enamel scene of a wingless Nike with a laurel wreath in one hand and a torch in the other, hovering above flaming remnants of a battle at sea, against a translucent blue enamel over engine turned ground, embellished with split pearls and diamonds. Pendant and movement numbered.
