A fine French, 20K gold, pearl- and garnet-set watch, circa 1775. A Louis XV case, back decorated with pearl and ruby-set flower basket with floral border, pearl-set bezel. White enamel dial, radial Roman numerals, outer minute dot divisions with five-minute Arabic markers, winding aperture at 2 o’clock. Pearl- and paste-set hands. A frosted gilt full plate movement with cylindrical pillars, fusee and chain, verge escapement with micrometric potence adjustment, brass balance with flat balance spring, continental cock, silver regulation dial. Dial and movement signed. Property of a Swiss Gentleman.
