An English minute repeating lever with offset seconds and Nicole winding in a gold half hunter case, hallmarked London circa 1861. Gilt three quarter plate keyless movement with steel Nicole patent winding work. Plain cock with polished steel regulator, compensation balance with blue steel spiral hairspring. English table roller lever escapement, escape and lever pivots with endstones. Slide minute repeating on two polished steel gongs. Signed and numbered white enamel dial with subsidiary seconds offset at eleven o’clock, Roman numerals, blue steel half hunter hands. Slim plain 18 Carat half hunter case with blue enamel chapter ring. Gold slide recessed in the band. Clip on plain gold back engraved with a lion’s head above a crown. Maker’s mark ‘AN’ in an oval and number corresponding to that on the movement. In a velvet lined red Morocco case.
