Gold English lever pocket watch

A rare English 18 carat gold open faced pocket watch made by James McCabe in London, circa 1861. An engine turned case with reeded band, plain bezels, pendant and bow, and maker’s punch mark AS for Alfred Stram. Gold dial with applied Roman hour numerals, outer dot minute divisions, a florally engraved center and blued spade hands. The frosted gilt 4/5 plate movement is signed, has a chain and fusee, an English lever escapement, gold balance and chatoned diamond endstone on the balance.
