Gold open faced keywind pocket watch

A French 18 carat yellow gold, chased and engraved, open faced keywind pocket watch, made by Mercier in Paris, Circa 1775. The watch features a chased, openworked, keywound cocktype movement with a verge escapement. The signed white enamel dial has Roman numeral hour markers, painted Arabic minute numerals, a railway track, and Louis XV style hands. The three part, round 18 carat yellow gold case has a smooth reverse, chased bezel, and is engraved Jacques, Charles Michel. Both the dial and movement are signed.
