French 18K gold lever watch with chronograph Circa 1920

A French 18 carat yellow gold open faced keyless lever pocket watch with chronograph, circa 1920. This watch features a handwound mechanical movement with a lever escapement. It has a white enamel dial with Roman numerals for the hours and an outer track marked with blue Arabic numerals every five minutes or seconds. There is a subsidiary seconds dial at 6 o’clock, a central second hand for the chronograph function, and hands adorned with rose cut diamonds and marcasite (one hand later). The 18 carat yellow gold case has inside engravings of a horsehead hallmark and the inscription Departments 1838-1919.
