Gold open faced verge pocket watch

A French 18K gold, painted-on enamel and champlevé quarter repeating à toc pocket watch, circa 1765. A Louis XVcase entirely chased with a wave pattern, the back with champlevé translucent and painted on enamel flowers, the bezel decorated to match. White enamel dial with radial Roman numerals, outer minute track, large Arabic five-minute numerals and paste-set hands. A hinged gilt brass, full plate movement with cylindrical pillars, fusee with chain, verge escapement, plain steel three-arm balance, flat balance spring, gilt brass pierced and engraved cock with polished steel end-piece, repeating on the inside of the case activated by depressing the pendant. Movement signed.
