Silver and gold French cylinder with digital hours Circa 1840

A French cylinder with digital hours in silver and gold open faced case, circa 1840. Key wind gilt Lépine calibre movement with suspended going barrel. Plain cock with blue steel regulator, plain three arm gilt balance with blue steel spiral hairspring. Polished steel cylinder, steel escape wheel. Unusual engine turned silver dial with subsidiary seconds, offset minutes and an aperture above displaying the hours in Arabic numerals and blue steel hands. Engine turned silver open face case with gold bezels, wound and set through the signed gold cuvette.
