Pocket watch with unusual case shape
–
A gold precision pocket watch with unusually shaped case, made by Julius Assmann in Glashütte, Germany, circa 1900. This watch has a numbered case crafted from 14 carat gold, a coined band and a back lid with sunray decoration and an empty cartouche at 6 o’clock. The white enamel dial has Arabic hour numerals, a subsidiary seconds dial at 6 o’clock and Breguet steel hands. The numbered movement features a Glashütte precision lever escapement, a gold lever, a gold escape wheel and a fine adjusting device.
The case and movement have matching numbers and the case, movement and dial are signed.
