Technically highly interesting pocket watch
–
Large, technically highly interesting pocket watch with Pouzait type balance, made by Hahn in Stuttgardt, Germany, circa 1790. The plain open faced case of this watch was crafted from high quality silver and its off white enamel dial with a protective laquer has an outer ring with Arabic numerals for the center seconds, a subsidiary time dial at six o’clock with black Arabic minute numerals (outside), black Roman hour numerals (inside) and gold hands, a second subsidiary “day of the month” dial at twelve o’clock with black Arabic day numerals and a gold hand and a center seconds outer ring with black Arabic second numerals with a black arrow headed hand. The extremely rare, probably unique movement is splendidly skeletonized, has a slow beat balance similar to Pouzait and a cylinder escapement.
Dial signed.
