A Swiss silver gilt, enamel and split pearls open faced centre seconds pocket watch made for the Chinese market, circa 1860. Gilt movement, cylinder escapement. Hinged glazed cuvette. White enamel dial, Roman numerals, outer minute track and centre seconds. Circular case, split pearl set bezels and bow, milled band, case back with painted polychrome enamel depicting a shepherdess in a landscape, inner case signed Bovet in Chinese. Dial signed.
