A Swiss 18 carat gold open faced keyless pocket watch with associated chain made by Patek Philippe in Geneva, circa 1881. This watch features a mechanical movement with a lever escapement, bimetallic balance and blued steel Breguet overcoil. It can be wound through the pendant. The white enamel dial displays black Arabic hours, an outer minute track marked at five minute intervals by gold Arabic numerals, sunk subsidiary seconds at 6 o’clock and Louis XV hands. The case bears the monogram CC on the back. The cuvette is numbered and engraved Fabriquée pour Charles Christiaens par Patek Philippe & Co Geneva 1881. Accompanying the watch is a watch chain made of 9 and 14 yellow gold.
