Gold open faced keyless lever watch
–
A fine Swiss 18 carat rose gold open faced pocket watch made by Vacheron Constantin in Geneva, circa 1940. It has a mechanical crown winding movement with a decorative finish of Geneva striping, a lever escapement, and a fine regulator system, signed Vacheron Constantin. The white enamel dial features gold coloured Arabic numerals at 2, 4, 8, 10, and 12 hours, an outer minute track, a subsidiary seconds dial at 6 o’clock, and sleek gold hands. The timepiece is housed in a smooth, polished, round, two body, 18 carat solid rose gold open faced case. The case has a snap on back cover with a smooth polished exterior and an engine turned (perlage) decorated interior, a fluted winding crown, and a sturdy, round suspension bow.
