A Swiss gold and enamel automaton watch, made for the Chinese market, circa 1800.
White enamel dial, with eccentric dial for hours and minutes, Arabic numerals, with wishbone shaped regulator indication below, the back with three motion automaton  representing a mill comprising a water wheel with water beneath simulated via means of a bright cut revolving panel and a swan dipping its body forward at intervals into the water, the foreground with vari-color gold scene inhabited by a shephard, and flock, the background finely polychrome enameled with a mill in the foreground with Swiss mountain scene in the back.
