Gold open faced verge pocket watch

A fine Swiss 18 carat gold and en grisaille enamel open faced pocket watch by Chevalier & Compagnie, circa 1800. Frosted gilt full plate movement, cylindrical pillars, fusee and chain, verge escapement brass balance with flat balance spring, continental cock pierced and engraved with polished steel coqueret, silver regulator disc with blued steel indicator.
The back with a classical en grisaille painted on enamel scene depicting a couple in love in the garden and the man holding a harp in his hand on a translucent royal blue background over sunray guilloché.
White enamel dial, Arabic hours, outer minute divisions, Arabic fifteen minutes, winding aperture at 2 o’clock and gold poker & beetle hands.
Dial and movement signed.
