–
Amalric, often signed as Amalric à Genève or Amalric Frères, was a prominent family of watchmakers originally from the Chartres area who gained renown in Geneva in the late 18th century. They had close ties to the French market but are primarily known for their refined Swiss pocket watches.
–
The family began with Abraham Amalric (died aged 68), a master watchmaker who collaborated with the Wiss brothers between 1775 and 1784. He later worked with his sons Jean-Louis and David under the name Amalric Père & Fils.
–
Amalric Frères (c. 1790–1830): This is the most common signature on antique pocket watches. It refers to the collaboration between the brothers Jean-Louis and David Amalric. In addition to watches, they also traded in tobacco and jewellery.
Signed: Amalric à Genève
