A Swiss decorative pair cased verge pocket watch with alarm for the Ottoman market, circa 1800.
Two cases: silver outer case, covered with green tortoiseshell, decorated with florally engraved silver ornaments and a large lateral hinge; silver inner case, richly florally engraved and pierced, with rear bell and a signed and numbered movement protection cap. The dial is silver Champlevé with inlaid Ottoman numerals, aperture with a rotating disc for alarm setting and Fleur de Lys hands. And the signed movement is a full plate movement, keywind, gilt, applied, with florally engraved ornaments, chain/fusee, one hammer, solid circular movement pillars, three-arm brass balance, engraved pierced balance cock and set diamond endstone.
