Gold and enamel urn shaped verge watch

A fine and rare Swiss 18 Carat gold and enamel urn form watch with a concealed dial, circa 1800. The Black Cherry by Antoine Moilliet & Cie. A fermée type case, the spring-loaded cover revealing the dial, both covers are black enamelled decorated with a champlevé enamel butterfly, bird and dog, the top with a blue enamel rosette. White enamel dial, Breguet numerals, outer minute divisions and gold spade hands. A hinged, gilt-brass full plate movement, cylindrical pillars, fusee and chain, verge escapement with micrometric potence adjustment, plain three-arm brass balance, continental cock pierced and engraved, silver regulation dial. Dial and movement signed.
