A fine French, 18k gold and painted on enamel pocket watch. circa 1775. The bezel with rope-twist and geometric decoration, the back decorated with an en grisaille painted on enamel scene of a lady artist an a classical landscape against a rust-colored guilloché ground, the border decorated to match the bezel.

White enamel dial with radial Roman numerals, outer minute divisions and Arabic five minute numerals. Pierced gold hands. Gilt full-plate movement, fusee with chain, verge escapement, brass three-arm balance, flat balance spring, pierced and chased foliate continental balance cock, silver regulation dial. Dial and movement signed.
