Gold hunting cased pocket watch

A Swiss 18 carat gold keyless pocket watch made for the South American market by Ch. H. Grosclaude & Cie, Fleurier, circa 1860. A fine gold hunting cased keyless pocket watch, with an engraved cover and caseback. The champlevé enamel dial has Roman hour numerals, a subsidiary seconds dial at 6 o’clock and blued steel fleur de lys hands. The border and the center of the dial are embellished with applied gold flowers. A frosted gilt movement, 15 jewels, straight line calibrated lever escapement, cut bimetallic compensation balance with blued steel Breguet balance spring. The dial, case and movement are signed.
