Fine Swiss 18 carat gold open faced lever watch Circa 1885

A Swiss 18 carat gold open faced lever pocket watch in excellent condition, made by Pateck & Co in Geneva, circa 1885. The movement of fine quality with Geneva striping decoration, 32 jewels, screwed chatons and a cut bimetallic compensation balance with a blued Breguet balance spring. White enamel dial with Roman hours, an outer minute track, outermost Arabic five minute numerals, subsidiary seconds at 6 o’clock and elegant, stone set hands. The case back is engine turned with a central, blank cartouche surrounded by foliage engraving.
