A Swiss 18-carat yellow gold, key-winding, round-shaped, Directoire pocket watch with hinged case back and open-face, circa 1800.
This watch has a quarter-repeater on one bell (activated by depressing the pendant). An enamel dial with dual time zone and date; subsidiary dial with hours and minutes of a meridian at 3 o’clock; subsidiary dial with Roman hours at 9 o’clock and subsidiary dial for the month’s date at 12 o’clock. And a full plate, gilded brass movement with fusee and chain, verge escapement, monometallic balance (polished steel), blued steel flat hairspring, and a pierced and engraved gilded continental cock. Dial and movement signed.
