A Swiss museum gold and enamel and pearl set pendant watch, in a shield shape, circa 1800.
Cylinder escapement (movement starts ticking, cleaning recommended). Two small enamel dials for the hours and minutes and the very rare early seconds indication, blued steel hands. 18K pink gold case, a slide on the back, winding and time setting underneath, face set with half Oriental pearls, dark blue engine turned enamel in perfect condition. This shield form watch, in museum condition, is one of the rarities among enamel form watches and comes with the original box and polished steel miniature key.

This is a particularly beautiful example, set with Oriental pearls. The watch is also very interesting from a technical point of view, as it has a decentralized time display with an additional seconds display. Comparable watches are known from Antoine Moilliet & Cie, who specialised in producing fancy watches in Geneva from ca. 1790 to ca. 1810.
