Exquisite verge clock depiction of a flower on the back
–
An exquisite verge clock with relief case, beaded edge and stones, made by Chrtistian Moricand in Genève, Switzerland, circa 1800. Made of 18 Carat gold, the clock features a multi coloured open faced relief case that is worked in three different gold tones, pearl edge on both sides and a depiction of a flower basket on the back, giving it a unique and beautiful appearance. The gold dial is very rare and features enamel cartouches, an enamel minute ring and an enamel signature. The blued Breguet steel hands are the perfect finishing touch to this exceptional clock. It is clear that every element of the clock was carefully considered and crafted with the utmost care and attention to detail. The movement has a spindle escapement, is signed and is a testament to the precision and accuracy of the clock. Dial and movement signed.
