An early and unique Swiss 18 carat rose gold hunting cased ankerchronometer with chronograph and special dial, circa 1874. Extremely fine ankerchronometer movement, very early version of an intermediate wheel chronograph, wolf’s toothing. White enamel dial with ALB(ER)T GALLATIN lettering instead of the numerals, outer 1/5 seconds register, blued steel hands. Plain case with fine coined spring lid rim, monogram AG for Albert Gallatin, the former Secretary of the Treasury of the United States. Case and movement with matching numbers. Comes with an Extract from the Archives.

The complete originality of the watch is confirmed by the Extract from the Archives. It is a unique, historically interesting collector’s piece, probably from the ownership of the son of Albert Gallatin.
