Henri-Robert Ekegrèn (1823-1896), along with Eugène Lecoultre (1819-1882) and Patek Philippe, was one of the best Geneva watchmakers of the time. He was the son of Daniel Ekegrén, of Swedish origin. Amongst others he worked for his compatriot Jules Jürgensen in Le Locle and for the famous Winnerl in Paris. Another friend and partner of this time was Adolph Lange in Dresden. Since 1847 he worked in Geneva, where he worked with Henri Golay, also a very experienced watchmaker. Mr. Ekegrén took as his assistant the young Louis Chevalier, who joined him for thirty-seven years. At the exhibition in 1867 he won a gold medal. Subsequent exhibitions – Vienna 1873, Paris 1875, Philadelphia 1876, Paris 1878 and Zurich 1883 – brought him further honors and recognition. He has been constantly working to improve every detail and to create a high value product. Until today his watches are honored in Europe and America.
