An early pocket watch split seconds chronograph, special reset mechanism by Stauffer & Co Swiss made for Mappin & Webb London, circa 1874. An 18 carat  gold, London import punch 1874, very fine chronograph movement with split seconds, English construction, maker’s punch Stauffer & Co., compensation balance with gold screws, very fine caliber, with unusual rest mechanism for split seconds hand, original enamel dial with 60 min. counter, steel hands.
