An extremely rare, early and important Swiss 18 carat rose gold hunting cased keyless pocket chronometer, circa 1874. Retailed by H. Pleister, 277 Regent Sreet, London. Gilt finished movement, spring detent escapement, 20 jewels, bimetallic compensation with gold poising screws, blued steel helical hairspring, freesprung regulator. Engraved gold cuvette. White enamel dial with Roman numerals, blued steel pear hands and subsidiary seconds. Heavy plain case. Case stamped and numbered, cuvette signed and numbered, movement numbered underneath the dial, dial signed.
