A fine and large Swiss gilt-brass, enamel and pearl-set open faced lever pocket watch made for the Chinese market, circa 1860. A fully engraved gilt movement with Chinese calibre, Ø 54 mm, standing barrel, Swiss lateral lever escapement, counterpoised steel three-arm balance, flat hairspring, index regulator. White enamel dial with Roman hours, an outer minute track and blued steel clover hands. The case back is painted with polychrome enamel floral decoration on a blue enamel ground, the bezel and bow are set with pearls. Movement numbered.
