A fine and rare Swiss 18 carat rose gold and enamel open faced keyless lever watch, circa 1885. Retailed by Spaulding & Co, Chicago. Nickel finished jewelled lever movement bimetallic balance, wolf’s tooth winding. Hinged rose gold cuvette. Silver plated dial with whimsical blue enamel Louis XV style numerals. Case with red and blue enamel monogram to the snap on back cover, wide bezel. Case, cuvette and movement signed by watchmaker, cuvette and movement signed by retailer, case and movement numbered.
