An English free sprung lever in a 18K gold full hunter case, hallmarked London 1909. Gilt 3/4 quarter plate keyless movement with going barrel, engraved cock with large diamond endstone, compensation balance with free sprung blue steel overcoil hairspring, English table roller lever escapement, screwed in jewelling, escape and lever pivots with endstones. Signed and numbered white enamel dial with center seconds, Roman numerals, blue steel seconds hand, and gold hands. Very substantial plain case. Plain gold cuvette. Maker’s mark JM in an oval and number corresponding to that on the movement. In a contemporary burr mahogany veneered presentation box.
