A very fine and rare Swiss, 18K pink gold, a keyless pocket watch with chronograph, circa 1885. Sold on February 27, 1888. The front cover with an engraved foliate monogram, chronograph button at 5 o’clock. Hinged gold cuvette. White enamel dial with radial Roman numerals, outer minute and fifths of a second track with Arabic five minute/seconds numerals. Blued steel spade hands.

A rhodium-plated movement, Geneva striping decoration, 21 jewels, wolf’s tooth winding, counterpoised straight-line lever escapement, cut bimetallic compensation balance, blued steel Breguet balance spring, index regulator, visible chronograph work. Dial, case, cuvette and movement signed. From the Collection of a Spanish Gentleman.
