Large Swiss gilded brass, enamel and pearl-set centre seconds duplex pocket watch made for the Chinese market, circa 1860.
A fluted case band, polychrome enamel painting on the case back, probably by a Geneva workshop, showing summer flowers on a blue ground. White enamel dial with radial Roman hours, outer minutes/seconds track with Arabic fifteen minutes/seconds numerals, centre seconds and spade hands. Gilded brass movement, engraved in Chinese-style, key wind, Tixier calibre, going barrel, a Jacot duplex escapement, polished steel monometallic balance with blued steel wings balance, a blued steel flat hairspring.
