An extremely rare Swiss 18K gold minute repeating keyless hunting cased pocket watch, circa 1885. Set with pearls and precious stones with moon phases, a perpetual calendar and a split-seconds chronograph. Accompanied by original fitted box. The case is made by Jeannot & Schiebler, the front and back covers are set with pearls, sapphires and other precious gems and with two sets of initials and the writing U.S. ARMY, the inside with inscription of R.B. Watkins and U.S. ARMY, the oversize crown set with diamonds, 18K yellow gold cuvette with a photograph of an American soldier on the inside.

White enamel dial, radial Arabic numerals, outer minute divisions, outermost chronograph track divided into fifths with five-minute red Arabic markers, four subsidiary sunk dials for days of the week, date, months of the four-year leap cycle and subsidiary seconds concentric with phases of the moon aperture and gold spade hands. A rhodium-plated movement, 36 jewels, straight line calibrated lever escapement, cut-bimetallic compensation balance with Breguet balance spring, swan-neck micrometric regulator, repeating on gongs through activating slide in the band. Signed on the movement.
