Gold open faced pocket watch from Patek Philippe
–
An excellent, rare Swiss gentleman’s pocket watch with independent jumping centre seconds, circa 1880-1890. It features a gold plated manual winding movement with a lever escapement, a large compensation balance equipped with a Breguet hairspring, and simultaneous winding of both barrels. The watch has a white enamel dial with Roman numerals, a jumping second hand, and blued Breguet hands. The smooth 18 carat yellow gold case bears the Patek Philippe hallmark, featuring a lid engraved with the monogram NE, a glass dust cover, and a pusher and arresting slide on the edge to stop the second hand.
