–
A decorative Swiss silver quarter repeater with polychrome enamel painting made by Girardier Laine, Geneva, circa 1800. Polished engine turned case back. Pocket watch with one horological complication: Quarter repeater by two hammers on two steel gongs, activated by depressing the pendant. White enamel dial with suspended Breguet numerals and blued steel hands. Polychrome enamel painting décor around the dial showing a beautiful young woman who seems to be pregnant and who looks at the clock. A gilded brass movement, fusee and chain, verge escapement, a gilded brass monometallic balance and blued steel flat hairspring, pierced and engraved gilded continental cock. The repeater works on the main plate, under the dial. The dial is signed.
