A Swiss, extremely heavy Longines pocket chronometer with unusual case decoration and extremely rare chronometer calibre, circa 1885.
18K rose gold case, unique case decoration with guilloche stars, factory glazing, cartouche with engraved monogram. Signed enamel dial with Roman radial hours, outer minutes track with red Arabic five minutes numerals, subsidiary dial with red 10 seconds numerals, and blued steel hands. Anchor chronometer movement with 20 stones, special fine adjustment and screwed gold chatons, large chronometer balance, extremely rare calibre.
