A heavy, very fine precision Swiss hunting cased pocket watch with pivoted detent chronometer escapement, circa 1874.
18 Carat pink gold, tiered, à goutte, polished case with reeded band, signed gold dome, and glazed movement; enamel dial with radial Roman hours, Arabic minutes, auxiliary seconds, and blued spade hands; and signed, German silver, ground bridge movement with nine-carat pink gold train, screwed gold chatons, pivoted detent escapement, anti galop system, comp. balance with two oval gold weights and two adjusting screws, free-sprung blued helical balance spring with both sides passing terminal curves, slender one-armed mirror-polished pink gold balance cock, and arrow-shaped mirror-polished pink gold cock for the gold second wheel and the pivot.
